- In 2019, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) stated several reasons for limiting the routine use of patient shielding in medical imaging as part of their policies.
- Since its release, several entities have endorsed the policy including: the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Health Physics Society (HPS), and the Image Gently Alliance.
